On the 17th July our film reviewer Toni Milward went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and here is her review.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) is given a task by Lord Voldemort that he must complete in order to become one of his chosen death eaters, worried for his safety his mother Narcissa Malfoy (Helen McCrory) turns to the aid of Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) in order for his word that he will do all in his power to protect her son from the rath of their dark lord, and so they engage in the unbreakable vow. Temperatures are running high between the cast as the sixth instalment introduces, Ron (Rupert Grint) and new to the Harry Potter set Jessie Cave who plays Ron’s first girlfriend Lavender Brown, Hermione’s (Emma Watson) new found attraction to Ron, and Harry (Daniel Radcliff) and Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright).
From the train platform in which Professor Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) takes Harry, in the midst of him catching the eye of the cafĂ© waitress, they embark on a journey of discovery as they set out to find the key memory of Voldemort’s youth that should lead them on the right path to destroying him..
A word of caution though to those of you have already read the book of the film, not everything that is written in the book appears in the film so it is not recommended to have sky rocketing expectations as when you come to walk out of the cinema.. You could be disappointed, never the less the film is full of tricks and turns that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. I award this film 8 out of 10.
